Ideas for decorating my son's new room?

I haven’t had the pleasure of decorating a baby room since we live in an apartment and our son has shared our room. We’ll be moving soon and he’ll finally have his own room, but the problem now is, this house is not ours. We’re renting so we can’t paint or add wall paper/borders. I had thought about putting up peel off decals, but the walls are painted with a popcorn(stucco) style. I can put up shelves and pictures. Does anyone have any ideas on how to decorate it nicely for my son? We’re thinking about a sports theme(hockey mostly) but my husband also mentioned planes…. Websites are welcome! Thanks in advance!
